June 5, 2026Practitioner Spotlight: Nicola Haywood

Jessica Chipman • June 19, 2026
After 16 years in nursing, Nicola Haywood decided to turn her passion for aesthetics into a full-time career.
What started as a new challenge alongside her NHS role has quickly become a thriving clinic built on trust, professionalism, and natural results.
From Nursing to Aesthetics
Nicola has worked as a nurse for 16 years and entered the aesthetics industry three years ago.
“It’s flown by and I’ve loved every minute.”
Her background in healthcare provided a strong foundation for patient care, safety, and professionalism, all of which remain at the heart of her clinic today.
Recently, Nicola made the decision to step away from the NHS and focus entirely on aesthetics.
“I was working with the NHS school immunisation team until recently, but as the clinic’s grown, I’ve now taken the leap to focus on it full-time — it’s been the best decision.”

Building a Clinic with a Personal Touch
Nicola runs her clinic as a solo practitioner, welcoming patients into a private treatment space in Wakefield.
The clinic was created with a clear vision: to offer a professional yet personal experience where patients feel comfortable, listened to, and cared for.
“It’s a lovely, relaxed space where patients feel safe and cared for.”
This patient-focused approach has helped Nicola build strong relationships with her patients and establish a reputation for delivering honest advice and natural-looking results.

What Makes Nicola Haywood Aesthetics Unique?
For Nicola, aesthetics is about boosting confidence rather than changing appearance.
Her clinic specialises in natural enhancements using top-quality products, with every treatment plan tailored to the individual.
“It’s a calm, private space where patients can feel listened to. Every treatment plan is bespoke.”
By taking the time to understand each patient’s goals, Nicola creates treatment journeys that are both personalised and realistic.

Most Popular Treatments
One of Nicola’s most requested treatments continues to be anti-wrinkle treatments.
Recently, Nicola has noticed an encouraging shift in attitudes towards aesthetics.
“My clinic welcomes both men and women, and it’s been great to see more men choosing to visit for treatment too.”

The Challenges of Starting a Business
Like many practitioners moving from healthcare into aesthetics, Nicola found that running a business came with a whole new set of responsibilities.
“Getting to grips with everything behind the scenes — from setting up systems to learning how to run a business — has been a huge learning curve.”
Despite the challenges, she describes the journey as incredibly rewarding and is proud of what she has built in a relatively short space of time.
The Most Rewarding Part of the Job
For Nicola, the highlight of her work is the positive impact treatments can have on her patients’ confidence.
“The feedback. When someone leaves feeling more confident, or messages me later saying how happy they are — that makes everything worth it.”
It’s these moments that continue to motivate her and reinforce why she chose a career in aesthetics.

Advice for Practitioners Considering ANS
“I would highly recommend Aesthetic Nurse Software. Running a business comes with its challenges, and anything that helps improve efficiency and streamline processes is well worth investing in — ANS certainly does that.”

Looking Ahead
Having recently made the move into aesthetics full-time, Nicola is excited about the future of her clinic.
With a focus on personalised care, natural results, and creating a welcoming environment, Nicola Haywood Aesthetics continues to grow while staying true to the values that inspired it from the beginning.
For Nicola, success isn’t just about treatments – it’s about helping people feel like the best version of themselves.
